Product overview

Z brackets are a common way to fix solar panels to flat surfaces, vehicle roofs, boat decks and walls where a rail system isn't practical. Each bracket attaches to the panel frame with a self-tapping screw through the pre-drilled hole in the Z tab, and to the mounting surface through a bolt at the base. The Z profile sits flush against the vertical face of the panel frame, holding it securely without clamping over the glass. The 2mm aluminium body keeps weight down, and stainless steel hardware resists corrosion outdoors and in marine settings.

Used on caravans, motorhomes and campervans, vans, lorries and buses, boats and yachts, and flat roof or wall-mounted off-grid solar installations. Suits any flat surface needing a low-profile, lightweight fixing.

Installation notes

Use a minimum of 4 brackets for panels up to 400W. For panels above 400W, or for high-speed vehicle applications, use a minimum of 6 brackets. Check the mounting surface is structurally sound and can carry the panel weight and wind loading; consult a qualified installer or vehicle converter if unsure.
