About T5 LED Tubes

T5 LED tubes are a direct replacement for T5 fluorescent tubes, using the same pins and fitting into the same fixtures. The end caps rotate 180 degrees so you can line up the light output correctly whichever way the tube sits in the fitting.

Each tube has its own built-in power supply, so there's no separate driver to install. They drop straight into fittings with a magnetic ballast, which also gets rid of the fluorescent hum. Where a fixture has an electronic ballast, this needs to be bypassed and the tube wired directly to the mains. Both single-end and double-end versions are available.

Lengths run from 30cm up to 150cm, with wattages from 6W to 25W depending on tube length, and a choice of colour temperatures including Warm White, Natural White, Cool White and Frosted. Unlike fluorescent tubes, there's no flickering, no dimming towards end of life, and no mercury to worry about when a tube eventually needs disposing of.
