1kW Wind Turbine

A 1kW horizontal axis wind turbine for off-grid and hybrid renewable systems. Where wind blows at a fairly constant speed for long periods, a turbine of this size can generate 8 to 10kWh a day, and it pairs well with a 2 or 3kW solar array to keep an off-grid home running without relying on the mains.

The turbine's Wi-Fi enabled controller charges 48V battery banks, including lead-acid and Pylontech US2000 lithium-ion batteries. The same bank can be topped up from a solar PV array, with a 230V solar inverter then supplying the property. An anemometer feeds back wind speed data and helps protect the turbine during extreme turbulence.
