Terms and Conditions

These terms cover everything sold through LED & Solar, bringing together the LED lighting range from Ledison and the solar, off-grid and battery range from Voltacon under one set of conditions. The shop is operated by Voltacon UK Limited. Placing an order with us means you accept these terms.

Who we are

We've been trading since 2011 and hold ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification. Our lighting business has a history of supplying the Royal Navy and the wider marine industry. Our registered address, and the address for all correspondence and returns, is Unit 5B Paragon Way, Exhall, Coventry CV7 9QS.

Placing an order

You can order through our website, by phone on 02477 675 575, or by post or email. If you send a written order to confirm one already placed by phone, please mark it clearly as a confirmation, otherwise we may treat it as a separate order and any extra cost caused by duplication will be for your account.

Any quotation we give is open for the period stated on it. No contract exists until we have accepted your order, whether that's by written confirmation or by telling you we've accepted it. We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to product specifications, and it's worth checking the current specification suits your needs before you order.

Trade and account customers

We offer trade accounts with pricing tiered by order volume, agreed on application. To apply, contact us and we'll talk through what's needed. Until an account is approved, orders are supplied against cleared payment. We can withdraw credit terms and ask for immediate payment of outstanding balances at any time, and interest may be charged on overdue amounts under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts legislation.

Prices and payment

Prices are those in force at the time we receive your order and include VAT at the applicable rate unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to adjust pricing where an order is varied, suspended or reduced in quantity after a price has been quoted.

Delivery

Standard mainland UK delivery takes 3 to 5 working days and costs £7.99. Smaller items go out by courier; larger or heavier items, including panels and batteries, travel by pallet freight. Delivery dates we give are estimates given in good faith, not a guaranteed commitment, and we won't be liable for loss caused by a delay unless it runs to more than 180 days.

Please check goods against the delivery note when they arrive. If anything is damaged in transit or short, let us know in writing within 3 days of delivery, and keep the packaging and contents so they can be inspected. Goods signed for as damaged should be noted as such at the point of delivery.

Ownership and risk

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership does not pass until we've received payment in full for those goods and anything else you owe us. Until then we can enter premises where the goods are stored to inspect or recover them, and you must keep them identifiable as ours, insured, and separate from other goods.

Returns and cancellation

Consumers have 30 days from delivery to return an item they've changed their mind about. Returns made after that window are still accepted if the goods are in resaleable condition, but a 15% restocking fee applies. This right to return on a change of mind applies to consumers only; business and trade customers are excluded from it, since distance-selling rights don't extend to trade purchases, and trade returns are agreed with us case by case.

If an item arrives faulty or develops a fault, contact us and we'll arrange collection ourselves. Please don't attempt to post large or heavy items such as panels or batteries back to us. If a returned item is found to be working correctly rather than faulty, a £30 charge applies. Refunds are processed within 1 to 5 working days of us receiving and checking the return.

Some products, including bespoke or made-to-order items, cannot be returned once ordered unless they're faulty.

Warranty

The LED lighting range carries a 5 year warranty. Warranty terms on solar and power equipment vary by product and are set out on the individual product pages.

Recycling

Voltacon UK Limited is a member of the Recolight compliance scheme, which covers the recycling of lamps and luminaires from our LED lighting range.

Liability

Our total liability arising from your order is limited to the price paid for the goods. This doesn't affect liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation, which we never exclude. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses such as loss of profit, business or goodwill.

Clearance items and promotions

Clearance or end-of-line items are refundable at the sale price paid, not full price, and if we no longer stock the item a like-for-like replacement may not be available; a credit against another product can be arranged instead. Promotional voucher codes can't be exchanged for cash, can't be combined with other offers, and only one may be used per order. We aren't responsible for lost, stolen or expired codes.

Using our website

You're responsible for anything you post to or transmit through our website and must not use it for anything unlawful, harmful or disruptive to our systems or other users. Content on the site, including text, images and design, belongs to us or our licensors. We may use automated monitoring to protect the site from misuse and will restrict access where we believe this is being abused.

Circumstances beyond our control

We won't be liable for delay or failure to perform caused by anything beyond our reasonable control, including government action, war, civil disturbance, fire, flood, explosion, epidemic, import or export restrictions, labour disputes outside our own workforce, or delays in obtaining materials or parts.

General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Not enforcing a term on one occasion doesn't waive our right to enforce it later. These terms, together with our other published policies, form the whole agreement between us for your use of the website and purchase of goods.
