Product Description

The Gaia rubber self-ballasted mounting system fits solar panels to flat roofs in an east-west back-to-back layout at a 10° tilt. The base is made from 100% recycled rubber, so there is no roof penetration and the waterproof membrane stays intact. Assembly needs no tools, and the interlocking base locks rows together to resist wind without concrete ballast blocks.

Panels are installed back to back in pairs: 2 PV modules means one pair, 4 modules means two pairs, and so on. The system weighs 10 kg/m² and is designed for flat roofs with 0° to 5° inclination.

Key features of this flat roof solar mounting system

  • Tilt angle, 10°, fixed east-west back-to-back configuration

  • Installation, tool-free, no roof penetrations, membrane-safe
  • System weight, 10 kg/m²
  • Roof inclination range, 0° to 5°
  • Wind rating, up to 145 km/h (40 m/s)
  • Operating temperature, -40°C to +80°C
  • Hardware, EN AW-6060 aluminium profiles with stainless steel DIN ISO fixings

Applications

Suited to flat roof residential and commercial solar installations, particularly east-west array layouts that balance morning and afternoon generation. Useful on exposed rooftops where a low-profile, non-penetrating system is required.

Installation notes

Fitting should be carried out by a qualified solar installer. Ballast requirements depend on wind exposure, roof height and panel size, and must be calculated before installation. All electrical connections must comply with current wiring regulations. Compatible with standard solar panels.
