About LED Microwave Sensor Tubes
These T8 LED tubes have a built-in microwave sensor that switches the tube on when it detects movement, then dims or turns off after a set period once the area is clear. Because they only run at full output when needed, they cut running costs significantly compared with tubes left on constantly.
An integrated photocell stops the tube firing up if there's already enough daylight in the space, though this can be switched off if you want the sensor to work on motion alone. Microwave detection sees through obstacles like wood, plasterboard and plastic panels, so it keeps working reliably in areas where a PIR sensor would lose accuracy.
Settings for detection range, on/off timing and dimming level are all adjustable, letting you tune the tube to the space it's fitted in. This range covers 60cm to 180cm lengths from 10W up to 25W, suited to car parks, storerooms, corridors and other areas where lights only need to come on when someone's actually there.
