Hytronik DS05 Daylight Sensor Photocell Switch 800W Max

The Hytronik DS05 is a daylight sensor switch that gives automatic on/off control to LED light fittings based on the level of natural light outside the fixture. It fits inside the luminaire and reads daylight through the diffuser or cover, so no drill hole is needed for detection.

Daylight sensor switch with advance detection

The photocell technology in the DS05 tells natural daylight apart from the artificial light coming from the LED source it controls. That means it can sit behind a diffuser or fixture cover and still respond correctly to outdoor light levels, ignoring the light produced inside the fitting itself.

Adjustable lux threshold

An installer sets the daylight threshold with the built-in DIP switches. Settings run from 2 lux up to 500 lux, with a disabled position for when photocell control is not wanted. Below the chosen level the connected light switches on; above it, the light stays off.

Applications

Suited to LED ceiling lights, bulkhead fittings, corridor and stairwell lighting, and other commercial or communal indoor lighting where an internal, unobtrusive daylight control is preferred. Works equally in retrofit upgrades and new-build installations.

Installation notes

Fit the DS05 inside a suitable LED fixture where it can detect daylight through the cover or diffuser. A spacing of more than 2 metres between units is recommended to avoid false triggering, and installation should follow current wiring regulations.
