Product Description
The Solis S5-GR3P17K-DC is a 17kW three-phase grid-tied solar inverter built for commercial installations. It reaches 98.7% maximum efficiency and uses two independent MPPT trackers spanning a 160V to 1000V range, with a 180V startup voltage that lets it begin generating earlier in the day.

Product overview
The natural convection cooling design removes the fan failure risk associated with active-cooled inverters over long service life. In dusty environments such as agricultural buildings or industrial sites, fans accumulate debris and need regular cleaning; a fanless approach avoids that maintenance entirely.
A 180V startup voltage lets the inverter begin generating at lower irradiance than many comparable units, extending effective generation time either side of peak sun. On a UK site this can add useful output during spring and autumn mornings.

Installation notes
Three-phase grid connection requires G99 compliance and DNO notification in the UK. Installation must be carried out by a qualified MCS-accredited installer, and string voltage should be calculated under cold conditions to stay within the 1000V maximum input.
