16W LED Gear Tray 2D Replacement | Emergency Microwave Sensor

This 16W LED gear tray is a direct retrofit for 28W and 36W 2D CFL fittings, combining an emergency battery driver with a built-in microwave sensor. It runs in warm white and fits any round ceiling or wall fitting previously used with a 2D fluorescent lamp.

How the sensor and emergency function work

The tray operates as a standard light from a wall switch or sensor input. Movement brings it to full 100% brightness; after a set interval it drops to 10% or 0%. The corridor function can be left active for reduced-level standby lighting, or switched off so the sensor cuts the light completely once the interval passes.

On mains failure the driver switches to battery power automatically, keeping the fitting lit for 3 hours as a maintained emergency light.

Installation

The tray connects via a fully insulated junction box with a 4-way power block for switched live, unswitched live (emergency), neutral and earth. Fitting is 2D/4pin, 262mm in diameter, and designed to drop into existing 2D CFL fittings without altering the housing.

Electrical details

Voltage input is 100-265V at 50/60Hz, drawing 250mA with a power factor of 0.95. The unit is not dimmable. Operating temperature range is -20°C to 45°C. Average lifetime is rated at 50,000 hours, with a 5 year warranty on the LED and 1 year on the emergency components. Certifications include TUV, RoHS, CE and UL.
