Product Description

The VMI monitoring gateway communicates with Voltacon VMI microinverters via PLCC/Zigbee and connects to the internet using a standard Ethernet cable from your router. One gateway is needed per installation, no matter how many microinverters are in the system. It gives panel-level monitoring and management of every inverter from a mobile or desktop browser.

Ethernet gateway for micro inverters

  • Communication, PLCC/Zigbee link to all VMI microinverters in the system
  • Internet connection, Ethernet cable to router or network switch, no Wi-Fi support
  • Coverage, one gateway monitors an entire VMI installation regardless of inverter count
  • Access, mobile app and desktop browser
  • Data, panel-level generation figures for each inverter and its solar panel
  • Management, remote monitoring of individual microinverters

Product overview

The gateway reads performance data from each VMI microinverter and uploads it to the online monitoring platform, so real-time and historical generation figures per panel are visible. This panel-level view makes it straightforward to spot an underperforming or faulted inverter without a site visit.

A standard Ethernet cable must run from the gateway to the nearest router or switch. The gateway itself has no Wi-Fi connection for internet access. One unit is sufficient for the whole VMI installation.

Applications

Suited to performance monitoring on residential and commercial VMI microinverter installations, and for remote fault identification and generation reporting.

Installation and safety notes

The gateway is a low-voltage communications device. The VMI microinverters it monitors carry mains AC and DC solar voltages, and must only be installed or serviced by a qualified electrician. A stable Ethernet network connection should be available at the installation site.
