The Victron Lithium SuperPack 12.8V/20Ah is a compact LiFePO4 battery with a built-in battery management system, sized for 12V systems where weight and space are tight. It works as a self-contained drop-in unit, needing no external BMS.

Product overview

Victron's SuperPack range uses LiFePO4 cells, a lithium chemistry regarded as thermally stable, which suits enclosed spaces such as boat bilges, vehicle cabinets and caravan battery compartments. The internal BMS removes the need for a separate protection board, so the battery presents a simple two-terminal connection to the rest of the system.

At 20Ah it suits smaller auxiliary loads: lighting circuits, instrumentation, communication equipment and similar 12V DC circuits. The M5 terminals accept standard ring terminals used in marine and automotive wiring.

Each SuperPack operates as a standalone unit. Victron does not design this battery for series or parallel connection with other units; a different battery from the range with external BMS support should be chosen for larger capacity needs.

Installation notes

The internal BMS manages cell-level protection, but the charger used still needs to suit LiFePO4 voltage profiles, with an absorption voltage of 14.2V and float of 13.5V. Do not connect this battery in series or parallel with other units. On boats, secure it against movement and keep terminals protected from moisture. Installation should be carried out by someone familiar with lithium battery systems.
