Product overview

Carbon additives in the negative plate reduce sulphation during partial-state-of-charge cycling, one of the common causes of early failure in solar storage batteries that rarely reach a full charge before the next discharge. This keeps capacity more consistent over the battery's service life than a standard flooded or AGM equivalent. M8 threaded inserts hold torque more reliably than bolt-through terminals where cables are routed under load.

Made by Victron Energy, this battery works within the Victron ecosystem: MPPT charge controllers with a lead-acid preset, MultiPlus and Quattro inverter/chargers, and BMV or SmartShunt monitors. Wire in series for 24V or 48V banks, or in parallel to add capacity at 12V.

Installation notes

Fit by a qualified electrician or experienced solar installer. At 35.5 kg, use proper manual handling and install in a ventilated enclosure suited to lead-acid chemistry. Rate all cabling for the system's maximum current and torque M8 terminal bolts to the manufacturer's specification. Grid-connected solar PV installations should meet G98 or G99 requirements as applicable. Do not mix battery chemistries or capacities within the same bank.
