Product Description

The Victron Skylla-i 24/80(3) is a three-output, 24V 80A mains-powered battery charger built for professional and commercial use. It suits demanding environments needing reliable, high-current charging across multiple battery banks at once, making it a strong marine battery charger for vessels running separate starter, service and auxiliary systems.

Key features

  • Output, 80A total at 24V, split across three independently controlled channels.
  • Adaptive charging, automatic battery detection adjusts the charge profile to the connected battery type and condition.
  • AC input, single-phase 230V, compatible with shore power, generator supply or mains.
  • VE.Bus port, integrates with Victron GX devices, remote panels and system monitoring.
  • Temperature compensation, via an optional sensor input, for accurate charge voltage across ambient conditions.
  • Configurable algorithms, set via VictronConnect or a remote panel for flooded, gel, AGM and lithium chemistries.
  • Enclosure, compact, wall-mountable, weighing 8kg.

Product overview

Each of the three outputs can be configured independently, useful where a starter battery, a service bank and an auxiliary system all need maintaining from one unit. That avoids running separate chargers and the extra wiring that comes with them.

VE.Bus connectivity lets the Skylla-i talk to Victron GX devices, Color Control panels and system monitors, giving installers a central view of charge state, voltage and current. In professional marine and vehicle installations, that kind of oversight is often expected rather than optional.

The adaptive charging algorithm tracks battery behaviour during each cycle and adjusts the absorption time. A deeply discharged battery gets a longer absorption phase; a well-maintained one finishes sooner. This reduces stress on the battery over time without needing manual adjustment.

Applications

  • Marine vessels charging starter, service and bow thruster banks simultaneously from shore power.
  • Commercial vehicles and coaches maintaining multiple 24V systems during layover.
  • Off-grid cabins and plant rooms with a 230V generator supply and several battery banks.
  • Industrial UPS and backup systems needing a monitored, high-current 24V charger.
  • Victron-based systems requiring VE.Bus integration with a GX device or Color Control panel.

What's in the box

  • Victron Skylla-i 24/80(3) 230V battery charger (1 unit)

Installation notes

This unit must be installed by a qualified electrician. It connects to a 230V single-phase AC supply and delivers up to 80A DC, so DC cabling, fusing and battery connections must be correctly rated for each output channel. Configure battery chemistry and charge parameters via VictronConnect or a compatible remote panel before commissioning. Marine installations must comply with applicable marine electrical standards, and a temperature sensor is recommended where thermal variation is significant.
