Product Description
The Victron Skylla-TG 24/30 (1+1) GL is a transformer-based battery charger built for professional marine and industrial use. It delivers 30A to a 24V main battery bank plus a separate 4A output for a starter or auxiliary battery, and accepts AC input from 120 to 240V so it can be connected to shore power in the UK, Europe or North America without modification.
Key features for marine battery charging
- Main output, 30A charge current on a 24V battery bank
- Auxiliary output, 4A for a starter or auxiliary battery, the 1+1 configuration
- AC input, 120 to 240V AC, wide range shore power compatibility
- Charge algorithm, four-stage adaptive charging: bulk, absorption, float, storage
- Certification, GL certified for marine and industrial safety standards
- Weight, 5.4kg, aluminium enclosure
Product overview
The Skylla-TG series uses a transformer-based design rather than switch-mode conversion, giving galvanic isolation between the AC input and DC output. This is required under many marine classification society rules and in industrial installations. The 24/30 variant charges the main bank and starter battery at the same time without mixing charge states between them. The adaptive four-stage algorithm varies absorption time based on the previous discharge, reducing stress on the battery compared with fixed-time charging.
Applications
Suited to marine vessels needing GL-certified charging with simultaneous main and starter bank management, off-grid cabins run from a generator with variable voltage, commercial vehicles and motorhomes with 24V house systems and a separate start battery, and industrial equipment that requires galvanic isolation between AC supply and DC battery. It also suits narrowboats, yachts and workboats charging from shore power in European or North American waters.

- 1 x Victron Skylla-TG 24/30 (1+1) GL battery charger
Installation notes
Fit by a qualified electrician or marine electrical engineer. Fuse the AC supply correctly and size DC cabling for the 30A output. On vessels, follow the relevant classification society guidance and confirm the GL certification meets the vessel's requirements. Check AC supply voltage and frequency fall within the 120 to 240V range before connecting, and do not install where the unit could be exposed to direct water ingress.
