Product Description

The Victron MultiPlus 12/2000/80-32 combines a pure sine wave inverter and a battery charger in one unit, built for 12V battery systems that need 230V AC output. It suits off-grid installations, marine vessels, vehicles and backup power setups where charging and AC conversion have to work from a single compact device.

Key features of the Victron MultiPlus 12/2000/80-32

  • Inverter output, 2000VA at 230V AC, enough for a range of appliances and tools.
  • Charger, 80A with adaptive multi-stage charging for lead-acid and lithium batteries.
  • Transfer switch, 32A AC transfer switch for shore power or generator connection, switching to inverter mode in under 20 milliseconds.
  • PowerAssist, draws extra power from the battery when AC input is limited, rather than overloading the supply.
  • VE.Bus, connects multiple units for parallel, split-phase or three-phase operation, and integrates with Victron GX devices for monitoring.
  • Configuration, set up via VE.Bus Smart Dongle or MK3-USB interface.

Applications

Off-grid cabins and remote properties running from 12V battery banks, marine vessels needing 230V AC from a 12V system, motorhomes and large campervans, and backup power systems for critical loads all use this configuration. It also fits hybrid solar systems built around Victron GX devices and MPPT charge controllers.

Installation

Fit by a qualified electrician or accredited installer. The unit connects directly to a 12V battery bank and needs correctly rated DC cabling and fusing. Grid-connected or ESS use in the UK falls under G98 or G99 regulations, and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified installer. Charge parameters and system settings are set through the MK3-USB interface or a VE.Bus Smart Dongle.
