Product Description

The Victron MultiPlus-II 48/6k5/100-50 230V pairs a 6,000VA inverter with a 100A battery charger in one unit, built to run from a 48V battery bank. It suits off-grid, hybrid and backup power setups where a household or small commercial site needs steady 230V AC and a charger that can put energy back into the batteries quickly.

Inverter with battery charger for 48V battery banks

  • Inverter output, 6,000VA continuous at 230V AC.
  • Battery charger, 100A multi-stage charging with an adaptive algorithm, matched to 48V systems.
  • Transfer switch, 50A AC input rating for connecting a generator or grid supply, with typical transfer under 20ms.
  • Parallel and three-phase capable, up to six units can be linked for larger single-phase, split-phase or three-phase systems.
  • VE.Bus communication, connects to VictronConnect and Venus OS devices for monitoring and configuration.
  • BMS and relay integration, programmable relay plus a two-signal BMS connection for battery management systems.

PowerAssist and PowerControl

PowerAssist draws extra current from the battery bank when a limited AC source, a small generator for instance, cannot cover the load on its own. That means the generator does not need to be sized for peak demand. PowerControl works the other way round, holding the charger current back so the AC input is never overloaded.

System integration

Because the unit speaks VE.Bus, it links directly into a Victron GX device such as a Cerbo GX or CCGX for full monitoring. Several MultiPlus-II units can be paralleled or wired for split- or three-phase output, so the same model works as a single residential inverter charger or as one building block in a larger installation.

Applications

  • Off-grid homes and rural properties needing dependable 230V AC from a battery bank.
  • Hybrid solar installations combining battery storage with grid or generator backup.
  • Generator-backed sites where PowerAssist allows a smaller generator to be fitted.
  • Three-phase or high-capacity systems built from multiple paralleled units.
  • Marine and vehicle systems requiring a 48V inverter charger with 230V output.
