Product Description

The Victron Inverter 48/375 is a compact pure sine wave inverter built for 48V battery systems, giving 375VA of 230V AC output. It suits off-grid professionals, marine and vehicle installers, and anyone needing DC-to-AC conversion where space is tight. A VE.Direct port lets it talk directly to compatible Victron monitoring equipment.

Key features of the Victron inverter 48/375

  • Output, 375VA continuous at 230V AC from a 48V DC battery bank
  • Waveform, pure sine wave, suited to sensitive electronics and motor loads
  • Monitoring, VE.Direct port for connection to Victron displays such as the Color Control GX, CCGX or compatible monitors
  • Plug, UK configuration, ready for domestic and light commercial use
  • Weight, 3.25 kg, suited to installations with limited space
  • Protection, low battery voltage shutdown, overload and over-temperature

Product overview

The 48/375 sits at the entry level of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range. A 48V input suits larger off-grid battery banks, where the higher voltage reduces cable losses. At 375VA it is meant for smaller loads: lighting circuits, low-power tools, communication equipment, or a single appliance in a cabin, boat or vehicle.

The VE.Direct port sets this apart from basic standalone units. Paired with a Victron GX device or a display such as the BMV-712 or SmartShunt, the inverter reports its status, output load and fault conditions into a centralised monitoring system. That matters in off-grid installations where remote visibility of performance is useful.

Pure sine wave output avoids the stepped waveform of modified sine wave units, which matters for equipment with active power factor correction, variable speed motors, or audio and medical devices sensitive to waveform quality.

Applications

  • Off-grid cabins and remote buildings with 48V battery banks needing a small AC supply
  • Marine installations powering low-draw AC equipment from a 48V house bank
  • Vehicle conversions such as motorhomes and vans needing a compact 48V inverter for occasional AC loads
  • Backup power for communications or lighting circuits in telecoms or security installations
  • Small solar off-grid systems with a 48V battery bank needing AC output for specific appliances

Installation notes

This inverter runs on 48V DC and must connect to a correctly fused, appropriately rated battery bank. Size DC wiring for the full load current and keep runs as short as practicable to limit voltage drop. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or an experienced installer familiar with DC systems and off-grid AC wiring. The unit is not grid-tied and does not require G98 or G99 notification. Keep ventilation clear around the unit to avoid thermal shutdown under sustained load.
