The Victron Inverter 12/800 converts 12V DC from a battery bank into a clean 230V AC pure sine wave output rated at 800VA. It is built for off-grid, mobile and backup power setups, with a SCHUKO socket for the AC connection and a VE.Direct port for monitoring and configuration.

Applications

Fits campervans and motorhomes with 12V leisure battery systems needing a 230V AC socket, marine installations running from a 12V house bank, off-grid cabins with 12V storage, and backup power for small AC loads during outages. It also suits portable setups on site where a mains socket is needed from a 12V source.

Monitoring and commissioning

The VE.Direct port connects to a Victron Cerbo GX or other GX device, putting the inverter into a wider energy management system. It also works with the VictronConnect app via a VE.Direct to USB interface, for local configuration and diagnostics without a full GX setup.

Installation notes

The inverter connects to a 12V DC battery using correctly rated DC cabling and fusing, fitted by a qualified electrician or competent person. The SCHUKO output needs an adaptor for a UK BS1363 socket. It is not grid-tied and does not require G98 or G99 notification. A VE.Direct cable or VE.Direct to USB interface is needed for GX or VictronConnect monitoring and is sold separately.
