This Solis 8kW hybrid solar kit pairs the Solis S6-EH1P8K-L-Plus inverter with 10.24kWh of Pylontech US5000C battery storage and a 4.5kW PV array from 10 JA Solar panels. Built for UK homes and small commercial sites, it runs alongside the grid, boosts self-consumption, charges on off-peak tariffs and keeps essential circuits running during a power cut. All the core parts for a full installation are in the box.

Operating modes

The system works as a hybrid grid-parallel setup with intelligent energy routing. It can store cheaper overnight energy on off-peak tariffs for daytime use, and switch to emergency backup to supply household circuits if the grid goes down. Export is adjustable, from a controlled level up to the inverter's full output, or restricted entirely with zero-export mode.

Applications

Suited to UK homes wanting to cut electricity bills and reduce grid dependence, and to properties on time-of-use tariffs such as Octopus Agile or Economy 7. It also fits sites that need backup power for essential loads, small commercial premises with a single phase supply, and phased solar projects where battery or PV capacity will be added later.

Installation notes

Fitting must be carried out by a qualified MCS-accredited electrician, with grid connection meeting G98 compliance in the UK.
