Product Description

The Solis S5-EH1P3.6K-L is a 3.6kW single-phase hybrid solar inverter built for residential and small commercial energy storage systems. It combines a dual MPPT design with fanless natural cooling, integrated AFCI arc-fault protection, and an off-grid backup function, and it works with both lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries. Grid-tie, off-grid, and self-consumption modes are all supported from the same unit.

How it works

In grid-tie mode the S5-EH1P3.6K-L feeds surplus solar energy to household loads first, then exports any remainder to the grid. If the grid fails, it switches to off-grid mode and draws on the battery and solar array to keep critical loads running. The intelligent EMS manages the flow between array, battery, grid and loads continuously, aiming to maximise self-consumption and reduce grid import.

  • Off-grid operation for complete independence from the grid
  • Grid-tie with battery storage for self-consumption

Applications

Suited to residential single-phase hybrid solar and battery storage installations, self-consumption systems needing grid export with backup, and any site requiring export control for DNO compliance.

Installation notes

Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited solar installer. A changeover switch is required if the off-grid backup output will be used. Grid connection needs a G98 notification or G99 application to the DNO, and battery systems must meet BS EN 62619 along with local building regulations.
