Product Description

The Victron Skylla-TG 24/50 (1+1) is a three-phase industrial battery charger for 24V systems, delivering up to 50A of charge current from a 3-phase 400V AC supply. It includes a second output stage in a 1+1 configuration, giving redundancy or the ability to charge two battery banks at once.

Key features

  • Charge current, 50A output for 24V battery systems.
  • AC input, 3-phase 400V supply, balancing load across all three phases.
  • 1+1 configuration, a second independent output stage for redundant operation or dual-bank charging.
  • Adaptive charge algorithm, adjusts absorption time to battery condition, helping prevent overcharge.
  • Continuous-duty design, built for marine, industrial and off-grid environments.
  • Weight, 13.5 kg.

Marine battery charger applications

This charger suits vessels with three-phase shore power and large 24V service or start battery banks, where a marine battery charger needs to run continuously without shutting down under load. It also fits plant rooms, generator rooms and industrial sites with high-capacity lead-acid or GEL banks, and installations where two separate battery banks need independent, simultaneous charging.

Redundancy and dual-bank use

The 1+1 architecture means one enclosure holds two output stages. If a critical system, such as backup power or marine propulsion support, needs resilience, one stage can keep charging even if the other develops a fault. That avoids running two separate charger units side by side.

Installation notes

Connection to a 3-phase 400V AC supply calls for a qualified electrician. DC cabling, fusing and battery bank sizing all need to match the 50A output and 1+1 configuration. For marine installations, check classification society or flag state requirements before fitting, and confirm the battery chemistry and voltage match the charger's output profile before commissioning.
