Product Description
The Victron Skylla-i 24/100 (1+1) is a 24V battery charger that delivers 100A of charge current from a 230V AC supply. It suits professional and commercial installations where high-current, reliable charging matters, and its (1+1) configuration gives two independently controlled output banks for systems with separate battery banks or split charge distribution.
Key features of this marine battery charger
- Charge output, 100A total at 24V from a single 230V AC input.
- Dual bank configuration, (1+1) output lets two battery banks charge independently from one unit.
- Adaptive charging, four-stage algorithm covering bulk, absorption, float and storage.
- AC input protection, charge current is reduced automatically if AC input power is limited, avoiding generator or shore power overload.
- System integration, VE.Bus and VE.Net compatible for use with Victron monitoring and control.
- Temperature compensation, built-in input for a battery temperature sensor.
Product overview
A high-frequency switching topology gives the Skylla-i a stable, regulated output. The four-stage adaptive algorithm moves through bulk, absorption, float and storage based on the battery's actual state rather than a fixed timer, which helps batteries held on standby or backup duty avoid the wear that comes from prolonged overcharging.
The (1+1) split provides one primary 100A output bank and one auxiliary bank. That's useful in marine, vehicle or off-grid setups with a starter battery and a separate service bank: the auxiliary output charges the secondary bank once the primary reaches float, so the main bank isn't drawn down and a second charger isn't needed.
VE.Bus and VE.Net connectivity lets the Skylla-i sit inside a larger Victron system. Charge parameters can be adjusted remotely, and the unit responds to system-level commands such as current limiting, which matters when it's fed from a generator with a fixed kVA rating. Charge parameters are also programmable via Victron software to suit different battery chemistries.
Applications
- Marine vessels needing high-current charging of service and starter banks from shore power or a generator.
- Off-grid cabins and remote sites running a generator as the main AC source.
- Commercial vehicles, coaches and motorhomes with large 24V battery banks.
- Backup power and UPS systems needing fast recharge between discharge cycles.
- Industrial and telecoms standby battery systems needing programmable charge profiles.
What's in the box
- Victron Skylla-i 24/100 (1+1) 230V battery charger unit.
Installation notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. The unit takes a 230V AC supply and outputs high DC currents, so cable sizing, fusing and ventilation need to be correct, and battery connections must be rated for the full 100A output. Configuration within a VE.Bus or VE.Net system should be done using Victron software by an installer familiar with the platform, in a dry location with clearance for airflow.
