Product Description

The Victron MultiPlus-II 48/6k5/100-50 230V GX is a combined inverter, battery charger and automatic transfer switch with a GX controller built into the same enclosure. It runs from a 48V battery bank and puts out 6,000VA of continuous inverter power at 230V AC, and because the GX device is already inside the case there is no need to wire in a separate Cerbo GX or Color Control unit.

Product overview

Because the MultiPlus-II GX houses the inverter charger and the GX device together, the unit connects straight to the VRM portal over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, logs system data and talks to compatible BMS units and MPPT charge controllers over VE.Direct and VE.Can. That cuts down on wiring and cabinet space on residential and light commercial jobs.

The 100A charger uses a three-stage adaptive algorithm, configurable for LFP, gel, AGM and other battery types through VictronConnect or the GX interface. Paired with the 50A AC input limit, PowerAssist lets the unit top up a limited AC source, a small generator for example, with battery power once the load exceeds what that source can deliver alone. That suits off-grid cabins, boats or sites where generator capacity is tight.

Parallel operation is supported for extra capacity, and three-phase output is possible with two additional MultiPlus-II units. ESS configuration is available for grid-connected sites needing self-consumption optimisation or backup. Whether a UK grid-tied install needs G98 or G99 sign-off depends on the specific system and DNO approval.
