Product Description
The Victron Quattro 24/8000/200-100/100 is an 8000VA inverter charger built for a 24V battery bank, combining an inverter, a 200A battery charger and dual AC input switching in one unit. It suits demanding off-grid, backup and marine installations where two AC sources need to be managed automatically.
Key features of the Victron Quattro inverter charger
- Inverter output, 8000VA continuous at 230V AC from a 24V DC bank.
- Dual AC inputs, connects shore power or grid alongside a generator, with automatic source selection and transfer.
- Battery charger, 200A output with an adaptive charge algorithm that adjusts current to battery condition and available AC input capacity.
- Two AC outputs, one 100A uninterrupted (UPS) output and one 100A output capable of shedding non-critical loads on low battery.
- VE.Bus communication, supports parallel and three-phase multi-unit configuration and integrates with Victron GX devices and VRM monitoring.
- PowerControl and PowerAssist, draws supplementary power from the battery when AC input demand exceeds the source limit, avoiding tripped breakers.
- Battery compatibility, works with flooded, gel and AGM lead-acid batteries as well as lithium, with configurable charge profiles.
How the dual AC input works
A standard MultiPlus manages a single AC source. The Quattro monitors two independently and switches between them, so a system wired to both grid and generator needs no manual changeover or external transfer switch. Transfer between sources happens within 20 milliseconds, fast enough to keep most sensitive equipment running through the switch.
Applications
At 8000VA on a 24V bank this unit suits larger off-grid cabins, mobile command units, large marine vessels and commercial backup systems where load demand is substantial. The 200A charger recharges a large battery bank quickly whenever AC power is present, and PowerAssist is useful where the incoming AC supply is limited, since the Quattro tops up demand from the battery rather than overloading the source.
Monitoring and expansion
VE.Bus allows multiple Quattro units to be paralleled for higher output current, or arranged in split-phase and three-phase setups for larger installations. Configuration and monitoring run through the VictronConnect app or a GX device connected to VRM. The two AC output rails let an installer keep critical circuits live during low battery events while non-critical loads are shed automatically.
