Product Description
The Victron MultiPlus-II 24/5000/120-50 is a battery charger with inverter built into a single unit, combining a 5000VA pure sine wave inverter, a 120A charger and a 50A AC transfer switch. It runs from a 24V DC battery bank and delivers 230V AC output, aimed at off-grid, backup power and hybrid solar installations that need a high-capacity unit.
Key features of this battery charger with inverter
- Inverter output 5000VA continuous at 230V AC from a 24V DC input.
- Battery charger 120A with an adaptive algorithm for lead-acid and lithium chemistries.
- Transfer switch 50A AC changeover between grid, generator and inverter output.
- PowerAssist limits AC input draw and supplements it with battery power under peak demand.
- VE.Bus integration remote monitoring and configuration via VictronConnect and Venus OS devices.
- Parallel and three-phase capability multiple units can be combined for scaled or three-phase output.

Applications
Used in off-grid homes and smallholdings with 24V battery banks, marine and narrowboat systems, and commercial premises needing backup power during outages. It pairs with a Victron MPPT charge controller and GX device in hybrid solar setups, and suits vehicle or expedition builds where 5000VA is needed from a 24V system. Multiple units can be stacked for parallel or three-phase installations.
What's included
- 1x Victron MultiPlus-II 24/5000/120-50 230V inverter charger unit.
Installation notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. At 5000VA and 120A charge current on a 24V system, DC cable sizing, fusing and busbar connections need to meet current wiring regulations. Grid or generator-connected installations in the UK should be assessed against G98 or G99 requirements by a qualified engineer, and lithium battery charge parameters should be set via VE.Bus or VictronConnect before commissioning. The unit weighs 32 kg.
