The Victron MultiPlus 12/1200/50-16 combines a sine wave inverter and multi-stage battery charger in one unit, built for 12V battery banks with a 230V AC output. How it works

When AC power is available, the MultiPlus charges the battery bank and passes power through to connected loads. If AC input drops out, it switches to inverter mode automatically, fast enough for most computers and sensitive equipment to stay running. The 50A charger recharges a 12V bank reasonably quickly from a generator, and the adaptive algorithm adjusts to the battery's condition rather than applying a fixed profile. It works with lead-acid batteries (AGM, gel, flooded) and lithium batteries once configured correctly.

System integration

VE.Bus connectivity lets the MultiPlus 12/1200/50-16 join a larger Victron setup. Multiple units can run in parallel for more output, or in split-phase and three-phase arrangements, so the unit works as a starting point for scalable systems rather than a fixed-capacity standalone product. It is compatible with Victron GX devices and the VictronConnect app for configuration and monitoring.
