The Victron VE.Bus BMS NG is a battery management system for Victron lithium battery banks connected via the VE.Bus interface. This unit is the next-generation replacement for the original VE.Bus BMS and is the version recommended for current Victron lithium installations.

Product overview

The VE.Bus BMS NG sits between the Victron lithium battery bank and the VE.Bus-connected inverter or inverter/charger, protecting cells from overcharge, over-discharge and excessive temperature. When a cell approaches its limit, the BMS sends a signal over VE.Bus telling the connected device to reduce or stop charging or discharging.

The NG designation means this unit supersedes the original VE.Bus BMS and is the currently supported version for new installations. Confirm compatibility with your specific battery model and firmware before fitting it. It does not replace a battery's own integrated BMS where one exists; it acts as the system-level coordinator on VE.Bus-based setups.

Installation notes

Fitting should be carried out by a qualified electrician or experienced Victron installer familiar with lithium battery systems and VE.Bus architecture. Check battery and firmware compatibility beforehand. This unit is not suitable for non-Victron batteries or batteries with their own integrated BMS that does not use the VE.Bus BMS protocol.
