Product Description

The Victron Skylla-TG 24/50(1+1) is a three-phase compatible marine battery charger built for 24V battery banks, delivering 50A to the primary bank with a second, independently regulated output for a smaller auxiliary battery. It runs from a 230V AC supply and suits commercial vehicles, vessels and industrial sites where two separate battery systems need charging at once.

Marine battery charger with dual outputs

  • Primary output, 50A at 24V
  • Configuration, (1+1) dual output, each independently regulated
  • AC input, 230V, suited to standard shore power or generator supply
  • Charge algorithm, adaptive four-stage cycle (bulk, absorption, float, storage)
  • Temperature compensation, available via an optional sensor, adjusting charge voltage to battery temperature
  • Battery compatibility, adjustable voltage and current settings for flooded, gel and AGM lead-acid, and lithium where configured
  • Enclosure, metal housing with a compact footprint for its output
  • Networking, compatible with Victron VE.Can for monitoring and integration with other Victron equipment

Storage and monitoring

The absorption stage adjusts to the battery's actual state rather than running on a fixed timer, so a deeply discharged bank gets a full charge while a partly charged one is not overcharged. Storage mode lowers the float voltage once the charger detects the battery has been idle for a while, which helps in long-term standby setups. Connected via VE.Can to a GX device, the charger can be monitored and configured remotely through the Victron Connect app, useful when it is fitted somewhere awkward to reach, such as a machinery bay or below deck.

Applications

  • Marine vessels with separate 24V main and auxiliary battery banks needing simultaneous charging from shore power
  • Commercial vehicles and coaches with a 24V chassis battery and a separate habitation battery
  • Industrial and off-grid 24V battery installations charged from a generator or mains supply
  • Telecoms and backup power systems that rely on long-term float and storage charging with remote monitoring
  • Motorhomes and large leisure vehicles running dual 24V battery systems with shore power

What's in the box

  • Victron Skylla-TG 24/50(1+1) 230V battery charger

Installation notes

Fit this charger with a qualified electrician or marine electrical engineer. The AC supply needs correct fusing, and cable sizing on both the AC input and DC output must match the current ratings. Wire the (1+1) outputs to separate, isolated battery banks, and follow the relevant NMEA or flag-state wiring standards for marine work. If linking to a Victron GX device via VE.Can, fit termination resistors at each end of the CAN bus.
