Product Description

A heavy-duty shore power cord for connecting boats, yachts and marine vessels to shore-side electrical supplies. Rated at 32A/250Vac with a 3x6mm² conductor cross-section, this 25 metre cable is built for marina installations and live-aboard setups where a full-length shore connection is needed without extension leads.

Key features

  • Length, 25 metres, enough to run from shore pedestal to vessel without extensions.
  • Current rating, 32A, supporting onboard loads such as battery chargers, air conditioning and galley equipment.
  • Voltage rating, 250Vac, matched to standard single-phase shore power supplies.
  • Conductor, 3x6mm² cross-section, keeping resistive losses low over the full cable length.
  • Weight, 10.5kg, reflecting the copper conductor content and heavy-duty insulation.

Product overview

Shore power cords carry mains AC power from a marina pedestal or shore-side supply to the vessel's inlet socket. At 25 metres this cord covers most berth configurations without an intermediate extension. The 32A rating matches standard marina 32A pedestals and suits the IEC 60309 (CEE) connector format used across UK and European marinas.

The 3x6mm² conductor matters at this length and current. A smaller conductor would introduce voltage drop over 25 metres at full load, which can affect charger performance and cause nuisance tripping. The 6mm² cross-section keeps losses within acceptable limits for continuous 32A draw, useful for live-aboard vessels or those running large battery banks on overnight charge cycles.

Applications

Suited to sailing yachts and motor cruisers connecting to marina shore power pedestals, live-aboard vessels needing continuous mains power for battery charging, and commercial or charter vessels berthed at UK and European marinas with 32A CEE supplies. Also used on superyacht tenders and workboats with high-load AC requirements at berth.

What's in the box

  • 1x Victron Energy shore power cord, 25m, 32A/250Vac (3x6mm²)

Installation notes

Shore power connections should be installed or inspected by a qualified marine electrician familiar with BS EN ISO 13297 or equivalent marine electrical standards. Confirm the vessel's shore power inlet is rated to accept 32A and that the onboard isolator and RCD protection are correctly specified. Do not use this cord with a shore supply exceeding its 32A or 250Vac ratings. Inspect the cord, connectors and seals regularly for wear, corrosion or water ingress, particularly in saltwater environments.
