The Victron MultiPlus 48/1200/13-16 combines a 1200VA pure sine wave inverter with a 13A battery charger in one enclosure, built for 48V battery systems delivering 230V AC. It suits off-grid setups, backup power arrangements and mobile or marine installations where a compact inverter charger is needed. A VE.Bus port ties the unit into wider Victron monitoring and control systems.

How it works

The 48V DC input suits systems where a higher-voltage battery bank reduces cable losses over longer runs. The 230V AC output is compatible with standard UK and European loads. When mains or generator supply is limited, PowerAssist takes the shortfall from the battery bank rather than tripping a breaker, and the changeover between supply sources happens with virtually no interruption to connected equipment.

VE.Bus connectivity supports parallel operation with additional MultiPlus units for higher output, or split-phase and three-phase arrangements. The unit also works with Victron's GX monitoring devices, Venus OS, VictronConnect and VEConfigure for commissioning and remote monitoring.

Installation notes

Fitting should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer experienced with battery-based inverter systems. The unit needs an appropriately rated 48V DC battery bank with correctly sized DC cabling and fusing. Any connection to the public grid must meet G98 or G99 requirements as applicable, with notification to the local Distribution Network Operator.
