The Victron EasySolar 12/1600/70-16 is an all-in-one inverter charger for 12V off-grid and self-consumption systems. It combines a 1600VA inverter, a 70A battery charger and an MPPT 100/50 solar charge controller inside one wall-mounted enclosure, cutting down on wiring and separate mounting for boats, leisure vehicles and small home storage setups.

Product overview
Three components that would otherwise need separate wiring, fusing and mounting are combined into one unit here. The MPPT 100/50 controller works with small series-connected panel strings up to 100V Voc, and its 50A solar charge current can run alongside the 70A AC charger, so the battery draws from both sources at once when conditions allow.
PowerControl caps the total current pulled from a shore or generator supply so it isn't overloaded. PowerAssist goes further, pulling extra power from the battery to cover short load spikes beyond what the AC input can provide. Both are useful on a marina berth, a campsite pedestal, or a generator-backed cabin where AC capacity is limited.
VE.Bus links the unit to a Victron Color Control GX or Cerbo GX for full system monitoring, and the VE.Direct port allows a direct connection to compatible monitoring devices.
Applications
Suited to off-grid cabins with small 12V battery banks and solar arrays, narrowboats and sailing yachts, motorhomes and larger campervans with 12V house batteries, small home self-consumption systems, and generator-backed off-grid setups where PowerAssist helps manage a constrained AC supply.

Installation notes
Fitting should be carried out by a competent electrician or qualified marine or off-grid installer. DC cabling to the battery bank must be correctly sized and fused for the system design. This unit is not for connection to the UK public grid (G98/G99) and is intended for off-grid or self-contained AC systems only. Where lithium batteries are used, check the battery management system is compatible with Victron charge profiles before commissioning, and allow adequate ventilation around the unit.
