The Victron Energy AGM Super Cycle 12V 125Ah battery is a deep-cycle lead-acid battery built for applications where regular deep discharging happens as a matter of course. Solar storage, marine house banks and off-grid systems all put standard AGM batteries under strain; this Super Cycle version is designed to tolerate that pattern of use. Why the Super Cycle range exists

Standard AGM batteries have a limited number of deep discharge cycles before capacity drops off. The Super Cycle range uses a modified plate design and electrolyte formulation so it can be drawn down to a lower state of charge without the same degree of sulphation and plate degradation. That suits solar systems drawn down daily, or marine and vehicle use where shore power isn't always available.

Terminals and setup

The M8 threaded inserts accept standard M8 cable lug bolts, avoiding the terminal damage that over-tightened post-type terminals can suffer, which matters in mobile and marine environments where vibration is constant. Charge with an AGM-rated profile: Victron's own charge controllers and inverter-chargers include AGM presets, and any third-party charger should be set to correct AGM absorption and float voltages.
