Product overview

GEL batteries hold their electrolyte in a silica-based gel, removing the risk of acid spill and cutting gassing during normal use. That makes them suitable inside caravans, boats, battery enclosures and off-grid cabins where a flooded battery would need dedicated venting. GEL cells tolerate slow, deep discharges well but are sensitive to high charge voltages, so a charger with a dedicated GEL profile is essential.

Multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase capacity, or in series pairs to build a 24V bank. The battery is designed to work within the Victron ecosystem, including MPPT solar charge controllers, MultiPlus and Quattro inverter-chargers, and the Venus GX monitoring platform.
