Product overview

AGM deep cycle batteries differ from standard starter batteries in plate thickness and active material density. This range uses thicker plates and higher paste density to deliver sustained energy over a longer discharge period rather than a short burst of current. That makes it appropriate for solar storage, inverter backup and off-grid use where the battery is regularly discharged to 50% or below.

The AGM separator holds the electrolyte against the plates, eliminating free liquid. The battery can be mounted in any orientation except inverted, and does not need ventilation for acid fumes under normal conditions. It remains a lead-acid chemistry, though, and should be charged with a compatible multi-stage charger set to AGM parameters. Overcharging or undercharging will shorten service life.

At 22.5 kg this is at the upper end of what one person can safely handle, so plan access and fixing arrangements before installing. Multiple units can be connected in parallel or series provided all batteries are the same type, age and state of charge at the time of connection.
