The VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS Type A Cable links Victron VE.Can devices to compatible CAN-bus BMS units using the Type A pinout. At 1.8 metres long, it gives enough reach for most battery cabinet and inverter layouts without leaving excess cable to manage. Product overview
VE.Can is Victron's implementation of the CAN-bus protocol, used to link inverter/chargers, MPPT charge controllers, the Cerbo GX and other devices in a Victron system. When a third-party lithium battery uses a CAN-bus BMS, that BMS needs to pass state of charge, cell voltage limits and charge/discharge parameters to the Victron system. This cable carries that link.
The Type A designation refers to the pinout on the BMS connector end. Not every CAN-bus BMS uses the same pinout, so check the BMS type before ordering. Type A appears on a number of common lithium battery brands, but always confirm against the BMS documentation first.
Applications
Used to connect third-party CAN-bus BMS lithium batteries to Victron VE.Can networks, in off-grid and hybrid solar installations pairing Victron inverter/chargers with non-Victron batteries. Also fits battery cabinet builds where the BMS and Victron GX device sit within 1.8 m of each other, and marine or vehicle installations integrating CAN-bus BMS batteries with Victron equipment.

Installation notes
Fit this cable with a qualified electrician or system integrator familiar with Victron VE.Can network setup. Confirm the BMS pinout type (Type A) against the battery manufacturer's documentation before connecting, as an incorrect pinout can cause communication failure or damage. CAN-bus termination resistors may be needed at each end of the VE.Can network depending on system layout; check your Victron system design for termination requirements.
