Product Description
The Victron Skylla-TG 24/100 (1+1) is a three-phase battery charger built for 24V systems that need up to 100A of charge current. It takes a 3-phase 400V AC input and is suited to industrial, marine and off-grid installations where continuous duty and reliability matter.
Key features for marine battery charger use
- Output, 100A into a 24V battery bank.
- Configuration, (1+1) dual module, allowing parallel operation for extra output or redundant operation if one module faults.
- AC input, 3-phase 400V, compatible with industrial and commercial supplies.
- Build, metal enclosure for fixed installation in plant rooms, vessels and off-grid systems.
- Weight, 23.45kg, reflecting a transformer-based internal design rather than switched-mode.
Product overview
The Skylla-TG range uses a transformer-based design instead of switched-mode circuitry. That gives galvanic isolation and tolerance of poor or unstable input power, useful on generator-fed or industrial supplies. The 3-phase 400V input spreads load across phases, cutting peak current draw where single-phase loading is restricted.
The (1+1) designation means two independent charger modules share one enclosure. Run in parallel for higher combined output, or in redundant mode so one module keeps charging if the other develops a fault. That matters for telecom backup, marine propulsion support or industrial UPS systems where a charger failure cannot be tolerated.
At 100A into a 24V bank, this unit suits large installations such as forklift batteries, sizeable lead-acid standby banks and larger off-grid storage. 24V is common in heavy commercial and marine DC systems that need more current capacity than a 48V equivalent.
Applications
- Large lead-acid or gel battery banks in industrial standby and UPS systems.
- Marine vessels with 24V DC systems and three-phase shore power.
- Off-grid installations with generator-based charging and large battery storage.
- Telecom and critical infrastructure backup power needing charger redundancy.
- Forklift and electric vehicle charging on commercial premises with 3-phase supply.
- Renewable energy systems with large 24V banks needing high charge current.
What's in the box
- Victron Skylla-TG 24/100 (1+1) 3-Phase 400V charger unit.
Installation notes
Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Connection to a 3-phase 400V supply must comply with current UK and EU wiring regulations, with suitable upstream protection fitted. The unit weighs 23.45kg and needs secure, ventilated mounting in a fixed position. Battery connections should follow the battery manufacturer's specifications and relevant DC wiring standards. Do not install where water ingress is possible unless the enclosure rating has been confirmed as suitable.
