8kW Off-Grid Solar Kit 14.4kWh AGM Batteries | Voltacon

This Voltacon off-grid solar power kit pairs a Conversol MAX-II 8kW dual-MPPT inverter-charger with 14.4kWh of AGM/GEL battery storage and ten 430W half cut monocrystalline solar panels. Designed, assembled and tested by Voltacon in the UK, it is supplied palletised with a wiring diagram, full component list and UK technical support.

How the system works

The dual MPPT design lets two independent solar strings connect to the inverter at once. The kit covers one MPPT input at 4.3kW, and a second PV string of up to 4kW can be added later without swapping hardware. The AGM/GEL battery bank uses sealed valve-regulated lead-acid technology, so there is no electrolyte checking or topping up, and it can be expanded with an identical set of 8 batteries. Batteries arrive filled and charged.

Grid notification and compliance

Because this off-grid solar kit has no grid export, it does not require a G98 or G99 notification to the DNO, which simplifies approval compared with grid-tied systems. All electrical work must still meet IET Wiring Regulations and be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Installation and safety notes

This kit must be installed by a qualified electrician. Battery connections, DC fusing, AC output wiring, earthing and ventilation must follow IET Wiring Regulations and the component manufacturers' installation guidelines. DIY installation of high-current DC or inverter systems is not recommended.
