Product Description

The Mastervolt MasterShunt 500A is a shunt resistor and battery monitor that reads state of charge, voltage and current for a battery bank. Its MasterBus interface passes that data to compatible Mastervolt inverters, chargers and display units, forming the monitoring base of a MasterBus energy system.

Key features

  • Shunt rating, 500A shunt resistor with integrated MasterBus interface
  • Monitoring, state of charge, voltage and current data
  • Network sharing, shares battery data with connected Mastervolt MasterBus components
  • Compatibility, suitable for any battery chemistry

Applications

Used as the monitoring foundation in off-grid solar, marine and vehicle energy systems. The shunt measures current flowing in and out of the battery bank so the MasterShunt can calculate state of charge over time, and that data is shared via MasterBus with compatible inverters and displays. Without a shunt, accurate SOC monitoring is not possible.

Where it's fitted

  • Mastervolt off-grid solar systems
  • Marine and yacht energy management
  • Motorhome and vehicle battery monitoring

Installation notes

Fit the shunt in series with the negative battery conductor, then connect it to the MasterBus network using MasterBus cable. Wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician or marine electrical engineer, following the Mastervolt installation manual for correct wiring and network configuration.
