The Solis S5-EH1P6K-L is a 6kW single-phase hybrid inverter for residential solar and battery storage. It combines integrated Wi-Fi monitoring, AFCI arc-fault protection and a 5kW backup output, switching to backup mode in under 20ms when the grid fails.
Key features of this hybrid solar inverter
-
Output, 6kW single-phase rated power
-
Backup power, 5kW output for critical loads during a grid outage
-
Switching time, under 20ms
-
MPPT design, dual MPPT with max string input current of 15A
-
Cooling, fanless natural convection, no maintenance
-
Monitoring, integrated Wi-Fi with remote control and firmware upgrade
Battery compatibility and energy management
The inverter works with lithium-ion battery systems that include a BMS, and with lead-acid batteries. An intelligent EMS runs 24-hour energy management, tracking PV output and load demand to prioritise self-consumption, then battery storage, then grid export. Multiple working modes let installers set up the system to suit time-of-use tariffs.
How backup mode works
On grid failure the inverter switches to backup within 20ms, drawing on the battery and solar array to supply up to 5kW to essential circuits. A changeover switch is required for the backup output circuit.
Applications
Suited to residential single-phase installations pairing solar generation with battery storage, where backup resilience and self-consumption are the priority. An Eastron 100mA energy meter is included in the box.
