Product Description

A ballasted flat roof solar panel mounting system set at a 10-degree inclination angle, built for south-facing single-row installations. No roof drilling required. It's aluminium and stainless steel construction that stays in place under ballast weight, making it suitable where wind loading or building height rules out steeper-angle systems. Order from 1 to 20 modules.

Key features of this flat roof ballast solar panel mounting kit

  • Inclination angle, 10 degrees, for low wind resistance on exposed or tall buildings
  • Orientation, south-facing, single-row configuration
  • Fixing method, ballast weight, no roof penetration
  • Construction, stainless steel fasteners with aluminium rails
  • Max rail span, 1.2m
  • Ballast options, concrete blocks or sandbags (not included)

Product overview

Where building height, aerodynamic loading or roof membrane limits rule out steeper mounting angles, this 10-degree ballasted system offers an alternative. The low profile reduces wind uplift compared with systems set at 15 degrees or more, which is why it's specified on tall commercial buildings and sites in high-wind zones.

Panels sit in south-facing single rows. The aluminium frame rests on the roof surface and is held down by concrete blocks or sandbags on ballast trays, so no screws or fixings pass through the roof. Rail span tops out at 1.2m. This kit is for south-facing single-row arrays only; for east-west back-to-back layouts, a separate kit is available.

Applications

  • Flat roof solar PV on tall commercial and industrial buildings
  • High-wind zone sites where a low-angle mount is required
  • Flat roofs where penetration is not permitted
  • South-facing single-row arrays from 1 to 20 modules

Installation and safety notes

Installation should be carried out by a qualified solar installer. A structural engineer should confirm the roof can carry the combined weight of the mounting system, ballast and panels before fitting. Ballast quantity needs calculating against site-specific wind load requirements. Concrete blocks and sandbags are not supplied.
