The Voltacon BYM1000 is a 1000W micro inverter with two independent MPPT trackers for grid-connected solar installations. Each panel gets its own dedicated MPPT channel, so shading or performance variation on one panel does not affect the other. Output is 230V AC with a peak efficiency of 96.5%, and the enclosure carries an IP67 rating for outdoor mounting near or behind the panels.

Design and construction

A high-frequency transformer provides galvanic isolation between the DC input and AC output, improving safety and cutting conducted interference on the AC side. Communication runs over PLCC, with WiFi available as an option. The unit measures 272.9 x 260.9 x 34.5mm and weighs 2.39kg, light enough to mount directly to a panel frame or rafter bracket without extra structural support. It carries a warranty of up to 25 years.

Applications

Suited to residential rooftops with 2-panel arrays or partial shading, balcony solar systems, garden rooms and outbuildings, and any installation where module-level monitoring or reduced DC cabling is wanted.

Installation notes

Installation must be carried out by a qualified MCS-accredited installer, with UK grid connection meeting G98 compliance. Follow the BYM1000 installation manual, allow adequate airflow around the enclosure, and check the MPPT voltage range against the panels being used before fitting.
