The Victron Anti-Islanding Box 63A is a grid protection device for single and three phase solar PV installations. It disconnects the inverter from the grid during a fault or outage, stopping the inverter from feeding power into a de-energised network. This is a mandatory safety requirement for grid-connected systems across the UK and much of the EU.

How it works

Anti-islanding protection is a legal requirement for any inverter tied to the public grid. Without it, an inverter could keep energising the local network after a grid outage, which is a hazard for utility workers and equipment. This unit disconnects automatically when the grid fails and reconnects once supply is restored and stable.

The 63A rating covers single phase residential and light commercial systems as well as three phase installations up to that current. One unit handling both configurations removes the need for separate devices depending on installation type.
