The Voltacon VMI600 is a 600W grid-tied micro solar inverter with integrated Wi-Fi monitoring, built for single-panel installations. It tracks the maximum power point of one module rather than an entire array, which helps recover lost yield when shading or mismatched orientation would otherwise drag down a whole string. It is G98 compliant and ENA registered (ZHEJI/15702/V1/A1) for UK grid-connected solar.

How it works
A string inverter reads the array as one combined signal, so a shaded or dirty panel pulls the whole line down with it. The VMI600 sits on a single module and tracks its own MPPT independently, so one underperforming panel does not cost the neighbouring ones their output. Built-in Wi-Fi reports generation and status directly from each unit, without a separate monitoring gateway.
Inside, the VMI600 uses GaN MOSFETs with no electrolytic capacitors and no cooling fan, cutting down on the parts most likely to wear out. A high-frequency transformer keeps the PV input electrically isolated from the AC output. Up to 8 units can be connected on a single string using a 24A circuit breaker and 10AWG cable.
Applications
Suits residential roofs with partial shading, roofs with more than one orientation, building-integrated PV on walls or awkward surfaces, and commercial arrays where module-level monitoring is worth having.
Installation notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer. G98 notification to the DNO is required before connection, and AC wiring, protection and earthing must follow IET Wiring Regulations. The VMI600 needs a live grid connection to operate and will not run off-grid or alongside off-grid inverters.
Warranty
Covered by a 10-year standard warranty, with a 25-year extended warranty available as an option.
