Product Description

This Victron cable links a VE.Can-equipped GX device to a CAN-bus BMS Type A battery system, giving the two components a direct data connection. At 5 metres, it suits installations where the GX device and BMS sit some distance apart, such as larger enclosures or separate battery and inverter cabinets.

Key features

  • Length, 5 m, the longer of Victron's standard options for this connection.
  • Connection, VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS Type A, with correctly pinned connectors for plug-and-play wiring.
  • Weight, 0.22 kg.
  • SKU, ASS030710150.
  • GTIN, 8719076071617.

Applications

Use it to connect Victron GX devices such as the Cerbo GX or Venus GX to a CAN-bus Type A BMS battery system. Common in off-grid and hybrid solar installations with managed lithium battery banks, marine and vehicle builds where the GX device and BMS are mounted apart, and commercial storage cabinets that need a longer cable run.

Type A vs Type B

CAN-bus BMS Type A uses a different pin assignment to Type B. The two are not interchangeable, and using the wrong cable means no communication or incorrect data between the GX device and the BMS. Confirm which type your BMS uses before ordering.

What's in the box

  • 1 x VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS Type A Cable, 5 m

Installation notes

Connect with the system powered down. On lithium battery systems, grid-tied inverters or high-voltage DC equipment, commissioning should be carried out by a qualified installer familiar with Victron system configuration.
