A pre-assembled 20 metre solar DC cable from Victron Energy, fitted with MC4-compatible male and female connectors (PV-ST01 type) at each end. It is intended for connecting solar panels to charge controllers, combiner boxes or other DC system components in off-grid and grid-tied installations.

Applications

Use it to extend PV string leads from roof-mounted panels down to a ground-floor inverter or charge controller, or to link a combiner box output to the DC input of a Victron MPPT controller or MultiPlus inverter/charger. It also suits off-grid cabins, caravans, marine installations and ground-mount arrays where the panels sit some distance from the battery or inverter enclosure.

Installation notes

Fitting should be carried out by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer. Check the cable rating against the maximum open-circuit voltage and short-circuit current of the array before connecting anything. Do not mix MC4-compatible connectors from different manufacturers on the same circuit, as tolerances vary and can affect contact and ingress protection. Confirm the 6mm² cross-section is adequate for the system's maximum current and run length. Grid-connected systems must meet the relevant requirements of BS 7671 and any applicable G98 or G99 agreement.
