Product overview

VE.Bus is Victron's communication protocol used across its inverter/charger range. Accessing the full configuration depth of these products needs a physical hardware interface between the VE.Bus RJ45 port on the unit and a computer running Victron's configuration software. The MK3-USB-C fills that role, replacing the older MK2 and MK3-USB (Type-A) interfaces with a USB-C variant suited to current hardware.

VEConfigure, the main tool for configuring VE.Bus devices, needs this interface to talk to the inverter or inverter/charger. Setting AC input current limits, configuring assistants, adjusting battery charge profiles and updating device firmware all depend on a working MK3 connection. Without it, these settings aren't reachable through any other means on VE.Bus-only products.
