The Victron MEGA-fuse 80A/80V is a bolt-down blade fuse for DC protection in 12V, 24V and 48V battery systems, inverters and DC distribution circuits. Supplied as a pack of 5, it's the correct replacement or installation fuse for use with MEGA-format fuseholders, including Victron's own range.

Applications

MEGA fuses like this one are used for main battery feed protection on inverters and inverter/chargers, branch circuit protection in DC distribution boards, and individual battery protection in parallel battery banks. They are also fitted in marine and motorhome DC systems and off-grid solar installations with high-current cabling between batteries and loads.

Installation notes

Fit only in a compatible MEGA fuseholder, and size the fuse to the cable cross-section being protected rather than the load alone. Use DC-rated fuses only, since AC-rated fuses do not interrupt DC fault currents the same way. High-current DC wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician, with the system fully isolated before any fuse is replaced.
