Product Description

The Victron Cerbo GX MK2 is Victron Energy's second-generation GX communications device, built to monitor and control Victron systems through the VRM online portal, local touchscreen displays, and third-party integrations. It is aimed at professional installers building off-grid, hybrid, and marine energy systems that need centralised monitoring and control.

Key features

  • VRM portal connection, remote monitoring, data logging, and system alerts over the internet.
  • VE.Direct ports, two ports for direct connection to MPPT solar charge controllers, BMV battery monitors, and other VE.Direct devices.
  • VE.Bus port, communicates with MultiPlus and Quattro inverter-chargers, enabling remote switching and configuration.
  • VE.Can port, supports Lynx Smart BMS, Lynx Distributor, and compatible CAN-bus battery systems, including BYD and Pylontech.
  • Bluetooth, built-in, for wireless connection to the VictronConnect app during commissioning.
  • HDMI and USB, connect a GX Touch 50 or GX Touch 70 display for local touchscreen control.

Product overview

The Cerbo GX MK2 acts as the communications hub of a Victron installation. It collects data from connected Victron devices, shows system status locally through an optional GX Touch display, and sends data to the VRM portal, where installers and owners can review history, set alerts, and issue remote commands. That makes it useful for sites that are hard to reach, such as remote off-grid installations, boats, or plant rooms.

Digital inputs accept signals from tank level sensors, temperature sensors, and generator run contacts, so all system data comes together in one interface. Relay outputs handle generator control and general-purpose switching.

MK2 revision

The MK2 designation marks a hardware revision of the original Cerbo GX. Firmware and software are unchanged, so existing VRM configurations, documentation, and integrations carry over without modification. The MK2 is the current production version and replaces the original Cerbo GX.
