Why temperature matters

Chargers and DC-DC converters that lack a temperature reading apply a fixed charge voltage, which can be too high in warm conditions or too low in cold ones. This sensor feeds live temperature data over CAN-bus to the connected device, letting it adjust the charge voltage in response.

It is a straightforward addition to any compatible Victron installation where temperature monitoring is not already built into the battery or BMS.
