Product Description

The Victron Energy BMV-700H is a high precision battery monitor built for high voltage battery systems operating between 60 and 385 VDC. It measures voltage, current, power, consumed ampere hours and state of charge, giving accurate real time data on battery condition and remaining runtime. It comes complete with a 500A/50mV shunt housed in a dedicated high voltage enclosure, connection cabling and mounting hardware, ready to install without additional components.

Victron battery monitor for high voltage systems

  • Voltage range, designed for battery banks from 60 to 385 VDC.
  • Readings, displays voltage, current, power, ampere hours consumed and state of charge.
  • Runtime estimate, calculates remaining time at the current rate of discharge.
  • Alarms and relay, programmable visual and audible alarm, plus a programmable relay to disconnect non critical loads or start a generator.
  • Shunt, 500A quick connect shunt supplied in a purpose built high voltage enclosure, with shunt selection capability up to 10,000A for larger installations.
  • Resolution, current measurement resolution of 10 mA (0.01A).

The monitor tracks state of charge by integrating current flow through a precision shunt, applying Peukert compensation and charge efficiency factors so readings reflect real battery behaviour under load. That matters where deep discharge shortens battery life and replacement is costly.

The H designation

The H identifies this as the high voltage member of the BMV-700 family, distinct from the standard BMV-700 used on conventional 12V, 24V and 48V systems. It suits traction battery packs, high voltage industrial banks and similar systems working well above standard low voltage DC. The supplied shunt sits in an enclosure built for that higher working voltage.

Installation and connectivity

All connections are made to the quick connect PCB on the current shunt, which links to the display head with a standard RJ12 cable. The supplied 10 metre RJ12 cable and 2 metre fused battery cable are all that is needed. Round and square front bezels are included along with a rear mounting ring and front mounting screws. A VE.Direct port lets the BMV-700H pass live data to a Victron GX device, putting the battery bank data on the VRM online portal for remote monitoring.
